Schefflera, aka. Umbrella Plants have very distinct foliage growth that makes them easy to identify. They can start small, but are quick growers with the right care and can fill a space before you know it.
Lighting: This is considered a low light tolerant plant and can handle 2-3 hours of direct sunlight touching the foliage. To maintain the plant's size, a minimum of 100 FC is required. For good growth, 200 FC is ideal.
Watering: This plant likes to dry out at least 1/2 of the way between watering. It can handle a good amount of neglect and the leaves will wrinkle when it is very thirsty.
This quick cheat sheet is meant to give you tips and tricks for how to best care for your plant. All of the information above is based on my personal experience and advice with houseplants and the lighting requirements are a reference from Daryl Chang of House Plant Journal.
*FC is lighting measured in Foot Candles and requires a light meter to get an accurate reading.
