Parlor Palm Plant Care Cheat Sheet

Parlor Palms are a great household plant that comes in many sizes and gives a tropical vibe to any space. It is also considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Lighting: This plant can handle 1-2 hours of direct sunlight touching the foliage. Palms can handle lower light but prefer bright indirect light. However, too much bright light can easily burn the leaves. To maintain the plant's size, a minimum of 100 FC is required, but for good growth, you want around 400 FC.

Watering: This plant likes to dry out at least 1/2 of the way between watering. It can tolerate drying most of the way out, and the leaves will begin to get crispy if left too long without water.

This quick cheat sheet is meant to give you tips and tricks for how to best care for your plant. All of the information above is based on my personal experience and advice with houseplants and the lighting requirements are a reference from Daryl Chang of House Plant Journal.

*FC is lighting measured in Foot Candles and requires a light meter to get an accurate reading.
